Wall Brown

Scientific Name: ( Lasiommata megera )

One of our most declining butterflies the Wall brown or most commonly known as the Wall. It gets it’s name from the males which prefer to bask on various rocky places like walls and large stones, where they wait for a female to pass.

They can be identified by their mix of orange and brown similar to the Gatekeeper butterfly however the Wall has a more detailed darker brown pattern in addition to black and white eyes on the forewing and the hind wing.
