Join COAST Sunderland and botanist Richard Hockin from Durham Wildlife Trust as we explore the fascinating plant diversity on Tunstall Hills and improve our ID skills. This area is designated as a Special Site of Scientific Interest because of it’s geological and biological importance. We can expect to see a range of plant species associated with magnesium limestone grasslands such as red fescue and blue moor grass.

We will meet at the Tunstall Hills Local Nature Reserve Car Park and return to our starting point at the end of the session.

This event is open to all ages but please note that under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that sections of this walk will require walking uphill and on uneven ground. Please wear appropriate clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear.

Booking is essential so please either book your space via Eventbrite or get in touch with us via email.
