Large White

Scientific Name: ( Pieris brassicae )
As it's name suggests, the Large White can be easily identified thanks to its large size. They are typically found in grassland habitat or within arable farmland plantations such as oil rapeseed. Adults have a yellow tinge to their under-wings while the upper-wings are cream coloured with a black tip. Females can be differentiated by two black spots on their forewings. The caterpillar larvae are black and white and feed on plants from the cabbage family which is where they get their common name- the Cabbage White!
